Kuraray’s Advanced Interlayer Solutions division (AIS) has unveiled a new blockchain‑based technology developed primarily for its SentryGlas® ionoplastic interlayers – products that offer significantly higher strength than conventional laminated materials and are suitable for façades, roof glazing, balustrades, doors, and partitions. Dubbed CertiPly™, the system supports greater authenticity, trust, and traceability for laminated‑glass applications.
One of the key features of CertiPly™ is real‑time traceability. Each batch of SentryGlas® is assigned a unique blockchain token, enabling the product to be tracked in real time throughout the entire value chain – from manufacturer to laminator, architect, contractor, installer, and client. This decentralized tracking solution enables project stakeholders to verify the authenticity, origin, and traceability of the laminated glass.

In practical terms, this provides assurance regarding the materials used and offers confidence to supply chain participants by confirming construction practices. “CertiPly™ will shape the future of laminated glass by delivering transparency, efficiency, and trust at every step of the fabrication and build process,” says Alberto Alarcon, global marketing communications leader at AIS. “It gives all parties the peace of mind that they are dealing with a global supplier and genuine products that deliver their stated class-leading functional and aesthetic capabilities.”
