A few years ago, Costa Crociere partnered with dormakaba, with the access and security specialist installing its Exos 9300 system at the cruise company’s Genoa headquarters. Providing centralized access management – from the lobby to the elevators – Exos 9300 operates via a single platform. The cruise company has now extended this collaboration for its new executive offices in Milan, with dormakaba supplying and installing the security and remote access management systems.
The first challenge at the newly established executive offices and client reception areas in Milan was to fully renovate a historic building while both preserving its heritage and reflecting the cruise company’s corporate image, philosophy, and commitment to elegance. In this project, overseen by the Corporate Estate & Facility Management Office, dormakaba installed a cloud-based system that provides customized remote access control via any authorized network-connected device at any time. This choice centered on the need for high operational flexibility, with the product able to control every access point, including those outside the building, via a single system.

To maximize protection and security levels, Legic technology was selected for its seamless integration with access and mobility systems using smartphones and smartcards. With the Mobile Access feature enabled, entry to the site is possible using a smartphone. Finally, the executive suite was equipped with a digital lock cylinder integrated with mechanical cylinders, thereby combining electronic and mechanical security in a single solution.
While the two projects differ in many respects, both feature a blend of innovation, autonomy, and secure access management that merges functionality with esthetics.
