The National Pavilion of the United Arab Emirates has launched a call for concept proposals for the UAE Pavilion at the 20th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, which will take place from May to November 2027.
By September 30, 2025, architects, designers, artists, historians, and researchers with experience in the United Arab Emirates or in the MENASA region (Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia) are invited to submit concepts that offer fresh, original perspectives on the architecture of the Emirates.

The call invites proposals that reflect the mission of the Biennale Architettura as a global platform for the exchange of ideas.
Applicants are asked to develop a compelling curatorial narrative rooted in local, regional, and international contexts, while engaging in dialogue with the Pavilion’s previous exhibitions. To date, the UAE National Pavilion has participated in six editions in Venice.
In parallel with the Biennale, the UAE National Pavilion also works closely with local communities to support the growth of cultural and creative industries through public programs and opportunities for professionals and students.

Applications will close at midnight (GMT+4) on September 30, 2025. Eligible applicants include citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates, as well as international professionals with significant experience and knowledge of the region, either individually or as part of a team. Residency in the UAE is not required; however, for team submissions, at least one member must be based in the United Arab Emirates.
The selection criteria will take into account the content and quality of the proposal, the feasibility of the final exhibition in Venice, and, above all, the story of the Emirates that the project seeks to tell and its relevance on a global scale.
A selection committee, composed of industry experts and leaders, will choose the finalists, who will then be invited to submit a complete project in the second phase of the process.
Further details and application guidelines can be found on the UAE National Pavilion’s website.
