More than ever, lighting and greenery are combining to give architecture its own identity. In fact, the two have become important parts of the toolkits of architects and designers when called upon to express the identity of a place or brand.

Como Lighting has translated this trend into forward-looking products and concrete projects. In the contract market, in particular, the firm has embraced a philosophy of total design freedom, abandoning a fixed catalog in favor of an approach centered on collaborating with lighting and interior designers, architecture firms, contractors, and clients. In other words, Como Lighting no longer simply supplies light fixtures but contributes to the design of unique atmospheres by enhancing spaces and communicating values through projects in the hospitality, healthcare, wellness, and office sectors.

To ensure the best integration of greenery into interiors, Como Lighting has developed a dedicated technology called GrowLineTech Inside, which it has integrated into a line of high-performance lighting systems designed to stimulate photosynthesis and help plants flourish in enclosed spaces. The line is intended to support architects and lighting designers in creating indoor green areas with strong visual impact that promote well-being.

A practical example of the technology is the aptly named Suninside project – a small indoor oasis created by combining technologies, botanical expertise, and neuroscience, in which full-spectrum lighting replaces natural sunlight. The system effectively supports plant growth while also encouraging human well-being. Originally conceived for olfactory stimulation in healthcare and assisted-living settings, Suninside can be adapted for a host of other applications, from hospitality properties to office buildings. The result is a system that can improve quality of life, reduce stress, enhance concentration, and stimulate emotional well-being.
