From September 22 to 26, 2025, BolognaFiere will once again host Cersaie, the most prestigious event dedicated to the ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings industry. Five days entirely devoted to networking and discovering outstanding products, together with a rich program of cultural and informative events, representing a true global showcase for the ceramic industry.
Highlights of the 42nd edition include an increase in exhibitors, with 620 companies expected, 39% of which will come from abroad, representing 29 countries across five continents. The exhibition space will expand to 155,000 square meters, up by 10,000 m² from the previous edition, thanks also to the reopening of Pavilion 19. This area will host the 13th edition of the “City of Laying,” featuring a large section dedicated to the Assoposa Academy, where master tilers will perform daily demonstrations and showcase furniture pieces made from ceramics. More than 100,000 visitors are expected for this edition.

The first event on the program is the Opening Conference titled Continuing to Invest in Italian Ceramic Manufacturing, scheduled for Monday, 22 September at 11:00 a.m. in the Europauditorium of the Palazzo dei Congressi.
The following day, also at 11:00 a.m. in the same venue, internationally renowned architect Elizabeth Diller, of the Diller Scofidio + Renfro studio, will deliver the Lectio magistralis.
On Wednesday, 24 September, at the Service Centre – “The Square”, two women-led conferences will take place: in the morning Living the Landscape with Rigor and Lightness with architect Lina Malfona, and in the early afternoon a lecture by architect Gloria Cabral. On the same day, at 12:00 p.m., the Tiler Awards 2025 will be presented, recognizing the best Italian and international tiler, organized by Confindustria Ceramica and Assoposa.
On Thursday morning, 25 September, “The Square” will host a seminar dedicated to CAN RAN arquitectura, delivered by Catarina Almada Negreiros. Later, at 2:30 p.m., there will be a lecture by Ángela García de Paredes, co-founder with Ignacio Pedrosa of Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos. During the day, the second edition of the Ceramics Career Day will also take place, dedicated to students and graduates, with the participation of 25 Italian ceramic companies.
The Café della Stampa, organized by THE PLAN and titled The Materials of Architecture: Cities that Regenerate, Spaces that Tell Stories, is scheduled for 24 September at 3:00 p.m.

This edition will also feature The Arcades of Cersaie, a photographic journey curated by architect Dario Curatolo, designed to enhance the beauty of Cersaie’s products through an aesthetic and sensory experience. Installed at the Costituzione Entrance, the exhibition leads visitors from the turnstiles to "The Square", the fair’s central hub.
"The Arcades of Cersaie " illustrates the transformation of materials, from their natural origins to the creation of finished architectural elements, through an image-based journey inspired by Bologna’s architectural identity. Set within an evocative architectural lighting design, the installation highlights the tactile and visual qualities of materials, showcasing porous, polished, glossy, or matte surfaces, with endless geometries, colors, textures, and patterns. The product becomes both an emotional and narrative element, integrated into a context that emphasizes its aesthetic and functional qualities.
Matter becomes architecture, cladding, flooring, decoration, merging with other materials, creating a dialogue between tradition and innovation. As explains Dario Curatolo, the arcade represents a crossing, a journey of discovery of this ancient yet contemporary fruit of nature and ingenuity: ceramics.
