Gordon Guillaumier has designed the decorative part of this series by taking from the past the graphic subjects to be introduced into the industrial process of Piemme, which in turn has purposely developed two new backgrounds with a different and complementary core, such as lava stone (Bits), available in natural and polished version in five different colour shades, and ground marble (Pieces), available in two different colours in polished version only, in accordance with the tradition of this type of material. Gordon Guillaumier, in playing with materials and styles, replaces the marble “tozzetto” with the wood slit, setting it in the Bits backgrounds, while for the polished ground marble background of Pieces, he inserts the marble “tozzetti” for a modern reconstruction of classic terrazzo flooring.
