It all began in 1994 and for the past 31 years Tris® has been a story of continuous research and innovation. Produced by T2D, it is a preassembled composite block – sometimes referred to a monobloc – for insulated façades, made of two brick elements with an insulating core in between. Over time, the system has advanced, earning patents and pushing both performance and versatility, all grounded in one of the world’s oldest building materials – brick. Its versatility spans every setting – urban and rural, coastal and alpine, from renovations to new extensions – and extends to the multiple functions of the block itself.
These characteristics come from both the technical qualities of the components and the precision of their preassembly. Indeed, each component plays a precise role, with the way they are preassembled making the system unique. The outer brick block provides protection from impact and weather; the inner brick block regulates heat and humidity and is fitted with upper grip holes for easier installation; the central thermal-break element, made of rebated-edge Neopor® panels, ensures low transmittance and increased resistance to winter cold. Comfort is assured in summer too as the brick elements give Tris® the thermal mass to shield interiors from heat spikes.

To guarantee continuous insulation, T2D has developed special Tris® elements – corners, cap blocks, under-window blocks and half blocks – as well as solutions for different structural needs, from load-bearing walls designed to resist seismic forces to non-load-bearing infill walls. In the latter case, the preassembled blocks are supplied with two different patented anchorage systems: one combines mechanical and chemical anchorage using zinc-tropicalized steel elements bonded with a resin for long-term stability; and one is a purely mechanical system that uses four zinc-tropicalized steel clips and four steel rivets that keep the blocks a constant distance apart. Both systems guarantee maximum stability, even in the event of destructive earthquakes.
Tris® walls also guarantee façades that are fire-resistant and hail-resistant – a critical quality in an age of climate change and extreme weather. The outer block acts as a shield, protecting the continuous insulation and preserving its physical and performance features over time.
And finally, sustainability: Tris® helps buildings meet nZEB standards, with near-zero energy demand. Its bricks are made with clay from T2D’s own quarries, recycled materials and wood flour.
