Fade is therefore composed of a smooth surface for indoors, a textured one for outdoors (or for interior wall coverings) and may be matched with the four colours in the I Frammenti range (four, like the Fade colours).
The inspiration behind Fade is that of a surface worn over time through wear and tear.
From the English verb to fade, which means to discolour, lose colour, wither, wilt, wear out. Over the years, a floor surface will be worn shiny by use. In fact Fade has this very important characteristic: it seems completely matte when seen from directly above, but when seen from any angle it displays a very light, irregular shiny effect, typical of a worn, distressed surface.
“Fade draws inspiration from the cold fabric-dyeing method to explore neutral shades. The material – smooth and vibrant or scratched and uneven – enhances changes in the light and highlights the beauty of the surface’s worn look. The deep, intense colours bring an ideal of neutral, natural warmth to the architecture. Fade is co-ordinated design of different colours, materials and surfaces” Lo Studio
