This surface treatment – Groove –offers a natural texture never previously achieved that heightens its aesthetic impact and authenticity.
Alpikord Groove is made by laminating an Alpi wood veneer to a phenolic backing at high pressure. It is then brushed along the grain of the wood to accentuate the naturalness of the surface and finally coated with an industrial varnish with a matt finish.
The end result is a 1 mm thick sheet of pre-varnished wood measuring 305 x 130 cm that is ready to be applied to any type of panel (MDF, plywood) and is suitable for all interior applications other than flooring, e.g. furniture, shops, bars, restaurants, ships and hotels.
Alpikord is a rich and varied collection of forty different woods, including the new Moka Oak and Fumed Oak, Dark Walnut, Grey Lati, Concept Phoenix and Perseus. All are available in three varnished finishes that accentuate different aspects: Groove (texture), Wax (naturalness) and Silk (gloss).
Alpikord is resistant to photodegradation. Upon request, IMO MED (naval) and Class 1 fire resistance certification can be provided.
All of the woods used in the Alpikord Collection have a controlled origin and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification. These products are ready-for-delivery and can be shipped anywhere in the world.
